Anorexic woman used to push fashion brand
By Emma Heald ........ A photograph of a naked anorexic woman appeared on Monday in Italian newspapers and on billboards to
highlight the effects of the illness during Milan fashion week while promoting a fashion brand

Written above the photo of the woman, used to advertise fashion group Flash&Partners's clothing brand Nolita, are the words: "No
Anorexia".The picture was shot by the controversial Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani, who in 1992 photographed a man dying of
AIDS for a campaign for clothing group Benetton
Toscani's aim was "to use that naked body to show everyone the reality of this illness, caused in most cases by the stereotypes imposed
by the world of fashion", Flash&Partners said in a statement.
"Everyone says it's ugly but I don't think it is, it really brings the message home," said passer-by Giuseppina Ravelli after seeing the
billboard in Milan."The people who reach these kind of levels have such great problems it is good that they use their illness to teach
others about it."But the president of Italy's Association for the Study of Anorexia, Fabiola De Clercq, said the woman used for the photo
should be in hospital and the image was "too crude".
Far from helping women suffering from anorexia, the photo may make many of them feel envious of the model and determined to become
even thinner than her, she said.
Super-skinny models gained mass media attention last year after Madrid Fashion Week banned girls with a body mass index of below 18
from its catwalks (18.5-25 is considered the "normal" range).
Milan responded by announcing a new catwalk code of conduct which obliges models to carry medical certificates, and opened fashion
week with a show featuring more shapely models.
Isabelle Caro, the French woman who appears in the photo, has been anorexic for 15 years, weighs 31 kg (68 lb) and suffers from the skin
disease psoriasis.
"I hid myself and covered myself up for too long," she told Vanity Fair magazine in an interview to be published on Wednesday. "Now I
want to show myself without fear even though I know my body is repugnant."
The Nolita campaign has received backing from the Ministry of Health, and the statement quotes Health Minister Livia Turco saying it
can "promote responsibility towards the problem of anorexia".

It's been fairly quiet on the Lindsay Lohan front for the past couple months, thanks to her being locked
away in rehab. Aside from a few outings to catch the eye of the press, there really hasn't been much to say
about her. Well, Lindsay has seen to that, and she is now rumoured to be the reason why British heiress,
Stephanie Allen, filed for divorce from her rocker husband Tony Allen. In case your wondering, Lindsay
allegedly had sex with Tony Allen in a rehab clinic bathroom, reports the New York Daily News.

A British heiress added that tag to LiLo's increasingly dismal résumé, accusing the "Mean Girls" starlet of
having sex with her husband in a rehab clinic bathroom.

Stephanie Allen, who is worth about $1.4 billion, leveled the charge in divorce papers filed against rocker
husband Tony Allen, 39, front man for the less than memorable band Dead Stays Alive.

Stephanie Allen, 28, whose money comes from her family's Linpac packaging company fortune, declared
that her three-year marriage "is irretrievably broken" and gives the grounds for divorce as "adultery" and
"cruel treatment."

The 52-page complaint filed in Chatham County Court in Savannah, Ga., also accuses Tony Allen of being
"guilty of habitual drug addiction" and states that Stephanie Allen should retain custody of the couple's
8-month-old twins.

LiLo isn't specifically named in the complaint, but Stephanie Allen's lawyers return to her husband's
"conduct and relationship with another woman" as described in an American magazine and on showbiz
Internet sites.

Exhibit A, which is attached to the divorce papers, includes articles claiming Lohan, 21, who has had an
on-off affair with Calum Best, 26, started a relationship with Tony Allen while they were both being treated
at the Cirque Lodge clinic in Utah.
Oh man, I can't wait for Lindsay to get out of rehab. I wasn't sure if the girl leaving Utah would be reformed,
and laid back, or just trying to get laid. Well, I guess we don't have to wonder very much. Get ready for a lot
more Lindsay news soon, because she's getting out of rehab this weekend.

And from the looks of it, there isn't much more to do in Utah than sit on the street corner, and play with a
FedEx box like a 3-year-old. Also, Lindsay's looking really pale, too, so I'm sure she's just itching to get in
some trouble, and hopefully a bikini. Let the fun times begin!

Paris Hilton is serious about following up on her promise to do good things in the world after prison. Next
on the good deed list: a trip to Rwanda.
Paris tells E! Online,
“I’ll be going in November, after I get back from filming my movie. There’s so much need in that area, and
I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help.”
“I want to visit more countries where poverty and children’s issues are a big concern,” she says. “I know
there’s a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues.”
Hilton reportedly will visit Rwanda at the invitation of Scott Lazerson, whose year-old Playing for Good
charity assists celebrities and high-profile business personalities in getting involved with organizations
that benefit those in need.
Maybe she can distribute Herpes medication and explain how to use it. I’m kidding, I’m kidding. I think it’s
great whenever a celebrity uses their fame to help the less fortunate. I’m just not sure how Paris is
planning on helping.
