East Village back in July by Craig McDean. She looked extra lavish in her bright
red Giles knit sweater and skirt during the trick-or-treat-themed photo shoot.

On describing the person she became for the photographs in this cover shoot: “I
remember someone once telling me that the definition of good styling is when
you look at the picture and you want to be the woman in the photos. Well, I want
to be that girl!”
On cutting down her workload in order to accommodate director husband
Darren Aronofsky’s career and take care of her son Henry: “Things get more
complicated when you have a child.We can’t both be working at the same time.”

On a steamy summer morning, the Vogue Diaries team headed to New York's East Village to meet up
with the Academy Award-winning actress Rachel Weisz as she prepared for her October cover
shoot. We found her perched in her trailer with her hair up in hot rollers, chatting cheerfully with
everyone around her as she had her makeup applied. As the day progressed, the actress took us
(and photographer Craig McDean) to her favorite spots in the neighborhood, including St. Mark's
Church, before settling down on a stoop to talk with us about her career, family—and what she
