People ask me everyday what was the strongest product that I have taken to lose weight the fastest. I took Prothinspo's Hydroxylim/ Diet Slim...I chose this product because of two studies.... The first studied showed a more rapid and effective weight loss than other diet products.This study set out to determine the efficacy of a calcium/potassium salt of 60% HCA extract from Garcinia cambogia alone and in combination with niacin-bound chromium and a standardized Gymnema Sylvestre Extract on weight-loss parameters in human volunteers. I know blah blah, but In a double-blind fashion, 60 moderately obese individuals were randomly assigned to three groups. Group 1 received just calcium/potassium salt of 60% HCA extract from Garcinia cambogia. Group 2 received the Garcinia cambogia extract, chromium polynicotinate, and Gymnema sylvestre extract. Group 3 received a placebo. All subjects received a 2000 kcal/day diet, participated in supervised walking five times per week, and took their assigned test supplements 3 times daily, 30 to 60 minutes before meals. Test measurements were then performed throughout the study, evaluating changes in bodyweight, body mass index (BMI), appetite, blood lipids, and markers of fat oxidation. After 8 weeks, Group 1 lost an average of 10 pounds, Group 2 lost 12.54 pounds, and the placebo group lost 3.53 pounds. At 8 weeks, both Group 1 and 2 were found to have lost significantly more weight than the placebo group. A reduction in appetite was also demonstrated in both Group 1 and 2. In addition, both Group 1 and 2 showed a significant increase in indicators of fat breakdown. It was concluded that supplementation with the combination of (-)– hydroxycitric acid (HCA-SX), niacin-bound chromium, and Gymnema Sylvestre Extract can help people with weight management. Very Cool Huh? So there is more... The next study was an 8 week study....In this 8-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trial, 30 moderately obese subjects were divided into three groups. Group 1 received just the calcium/potassium salt of 60% HCA extract from Garcinia cambogia. Group 2 received Garcinia cambogia extract, chromium polynicotinate, and Gymnema sylvestre extract. Group 3 received a placebo. All subjects were placed on a 2000 kcal/day diet; ingested the assigned test supplements 3 times daily, 30 to 60 minutes prior to meals; and participated in supervised walking five times per week. At the end of 8 weeks, Group 1 lost, on average, 12.1 pounds. Group 2 lost, on average, 14.99 pounds. Group 3 lost, on average, 3.06 pounds. At the end of the study period, weight-loss values in both Group 1 and Group 2 were significantly greater than in the placebo group. Moreover, the placebo group showed a slight increase in food consumption, while the HCA groups both showed a significant reduction in appetite compared to placebo. Based on the results from this study, it was concluded that the unique HCA extract used in this trial, either alone or in combination with Gymnema Sylvestre Extract and niacin-bound chromium, is effective in helping control appetite, increase fat oxidation, and promote weight loss. Question : I am a former athlete and used to eat anything I wanted. I no longer train like I used to but I have horrible cravings. Sometimes I feel as if I can't stop eating. I remember having instances like this when growing up too. I haven't gained that much weight, because I work out and sometimes restrict eating after a binge. I know what I am doing is unhealthy but can't seem to stop. I am afraid it is getting out of control.
Answer : If we eat because of emotions and not hunger, then we're bingeing. A binge is often followed by a purge -- perhaps restricting food intake or increasing exercise or even inducing vomiting. We all use these behaviors at some time or another; how often we use them and to what extent are the key. Restricting our food intake by dieting can often set off a binge. Others use bingeing as a way to calm or soothe themselves in emotionally charged situations.
Can you figure out why you are bingeing? Does it happen only at certain times, after specific events, with certain situations, in specific places? Many of us use bingeing as a response to something happening in our life that we just don't know how to handle. If we can figure out a different way of dealing with a situation, we won't need to binge. This may sound simple, but it really can take quite a bit of work both to understand the reasons behind bingeing and to then substitute another behavior. A therapist can often help sort out the situation.
There are some great books that talk about why we eat, why we choose certain foods to eat, etc. Pick up a copy of Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch or The Diet-Free Solution by Laurel Mellin. They can help you understand the reasons behind bingeing and give suggestions for how to stop. Some that have worked for others:
Set a goal to eliminate the goal of weight loss; it's next to impossible to focus on both losing weight and preventing binge eating. Identify an alternative behavior to replace bingeing. For example, someone who binges when they are under stress could try stress reduction techniques such as relaxation, yoga or meditation. Remember to listen to your body and eat when you are physically hungry. If we deny ourselves food, it's much easier to fall into a binge.

Appetite or Hunger? The next time that you pull up a chair at the table, before you put a morsel into your mouth, and before you even say the blessing, ask yourself, "Am I hungry OR am I eating just because?"
Many times we eat just because it's meal time. Or, we may eat because we just feel like eating something tasty. Or, we may be acting polite by eating something that we really don't even want to eat, but we do such so we won't hurt the other person's feelings. Here are some ways to deal with appetite:
Choose only to eat when you are hungry. Don't wait until you are famished to eat, or it's almost certain that you will overeat. If someone insists that you try something, you can resist and still be polite. Simply tell them that you are not hungry right now, and that you'll save the goody for when you are. If you are eating because you just want something tasty, pause and rethink your Diet Strategy. When you get hungry, then enjoy BUT be sure to pre-determine how much you are going to eat so that you won't overdo.
Why Can't I Resist Overeating? Diet Problem: Overeating. There are many reasons why we overeat, so your best defense is to determine which reason(s) trips your Overeat Button. Keep in mind that to every problem, there is a solution - even to Diet Problems. So that's the good news. Choosing to tackle our Diet Problems can be troubling, because generally, tackling diet-related problems is optional.
But if you want to see big results on the weight scales, take a look at a few of the most common Overeat Button Denominators and try to solve your puzzle by getting a grip on your Overeat Button. You will fall in love with those lower numbers on your weight scales!
Stress kicks in the urge to overeat in many individuals and it's how their body deals with stress. The "I Love Food Syndrome". Simply put, a lot of individuals just like the way that food tastes. I do! It's nothing to be defensive about, or ashamed about if this scenario fits. The key is to manage the amount of food that we eat. It's not easy, but it can be done with determination. Many times we overeat when we are at an event - such as a holiday party. Even though we overeat, we may not even remember what we ate (yes, even if we didn't have alcohol!). It's due to mingling and the heightened excitement. Sometimes we overeat because we are not aware of what a portion size is OR because the restaurant doesn't provide nutritional information about the foods ordered. We may overeat because we don't feel well, and sometimes eating makes it all better. We may overeat because we are depressed OR happy! We may overeat because. And 'because' is the most difficult reason to figure out what we need to do to fix our Overeat Button.
