4/1/09 Two of Queen Latifah's subjects have proven themselves to be none too loyal, filing separate lawsuits
against the star for more than $1 million in allegedly unpaid fees.

Makeup consultant Roxanna Floyd and stylist Susan Moses filed their coordinated suits in Manhattan federal
court Monday against the Oscar-nominated, Grammy-winning Latifah, whose real name is Dana Owens.

Floyd claims she's due roughly $700,000 for work done between July 2005 and February 2008 in developing,
marketing and producing Latifah's Queen Collection for CoverGirl.

As for Moses, she claims she's owed $300,000, which includes a $50,000 per year salary, during the same
period for advising the 39-year-old entertainer on her Curvations full-figured lingerie line.

Latifah spokeswoman Amanda Silverman said the lawsuits were "without merit."

Queen Latifah’s Diet
Queen Latifah has been following the Jenny Craig diet, and talking to her personal
consultant often.  On the Jenny Craig program you get assigned a personal consultant
who you can call, and they keep track of you.  They teach you how to make better
choices, and will walk you through moments where you feel like you’re gonna blow the
diet.

“My intention was to lose five to 10 percent of my body weight because it makes a
difference with health related issues, and I achieved that goal in a couple of months,”
she told PEOPLE at the first annual National Awards & Recognition Luncheon for The
League recently. “I’m excited about this weight loss.”

Queen Latifah’s Workout
In addition to following the Jenny Craig program, Queen Latifah hit the gym five to
seven days a week, switching between the treadmill or elliptical machine for an hour.
”My jeans are looser, I feel more energetic,” she said of shedding the weight. “People
dig it. They come up to me and say ‘I’m glad you’re talking about the health side of it.’
People get that message, which is important too.”

“I’ve lost 20 pounds and my cholesterol is down 20 points.  Thanks, Jenny! I joined
Jenny Craig to learn how to make healthier choices, and it’s working.  I’ve never felt
better!  With the help of my personal consultant, I’ve discovered real food…delicious
food…that’s made my journey to a “Size healthier” easier than I ever expected.”

Queen Latifah Role Model
Even though she’s lost weight, Latifah said her fans know that she’s still one of them.
”They see that I’m doing this for the health reasons but also say, ‘She’s still
representing for the big girls. She hasn’t abandoned us!’ ” Latifah said. “This is me
doing something for me, but if I am going to be a role model I hope people can catch
on.”  ”[People] tell me how their daughters are inspired by the way I carry myself and
not be a size 2..“We officially confirm that Queen Latifah will join the Jenny Craig
program in January. (2008)” says Scott Parker, Jenny Craig’s vice president of
marketing.

“We are thrilled to have Queen Latifah support our mission of improving health by
taking her first step toward achieving a more healthful lifestyle.”

“Queen Latifah joins forces with Jenny Craig to communicate the importance of how
small lifestyle changes, in the areas of diet and exercise, can have positive effects on
overall health.” (Source People Magazine)
