What do supermodels eat? Models and celebrities are known for their bodies, their skin
tone and their beautiful complexion. While genetics undoubtedly plays a role, their
appearance has much to do with their nutritional regimen, exercise regime and of course
good old self confidence! Muscle tone and shape, skin quality, intestinal function and
energy levels all require ingredients that provide more healthy opportunities to thrive
and compliment a fitness routine that focuses on fat loss, muscle shape and mental

What do Supermodels Eat? Let’s talk organic first greens…. You all know that this is the
main staple of anyone’s diet that is a size 0. Organic greens… Eating organic foods avoids
agricultural pesticides, chemical fertilizers, hormones and other toxins. Eating green and
organic provides higher levels of natural vitamins, antioxidants, higher concentrations of
anthocyanins. Eating green and organic delivers an abundant amount of nutrients to
repair tissue, rejuvenate skin appearance and provide energy. Eating green and organic
just tastes better!

Protein….Protein provides the amino acids- essential to repair tissue, and build and
beautify skin, hair, nails-- and cartilage. Because the body does not store protein,
supermodels eat healthy protein everyday including eggs, lean beef, chicken, fish, turkey,
tofu, beans or cheese and of course there is always the protein shakes if they are not
eating that day.

Carbs….The body needs a certain amount of carbohydrates to function properly. A
deficient intake may cause fatigue, muscle cramps, and poor mental function. Not good
when sauntering down a runway in 7-inch heels.

So why do carbs have such a bad rap? Over-consumption of carbohydrates has given
carbs a bad name. Poor carb choices and ridiculous portion size has lead to the war
against carbs. If you exercise or if you don’t exercise eat carbs…..In moderation and from
green and organic sources, carbs will provide you will steady energy, while filling your
body up with natural fiber and essential vitamins. Healthy carbs include: 10-grain,
pumpernickel, rye, sourdough, whole grain tortillas, even flax seed tortillas, bran cereals,
oatmeal (slow cook, not instant- which is often stripped of its fiber for faster cooking),
brown rice, beans, even high-fiber veggies and fruits like: beets, sweet potatoes, yams,
broccoli, brussel sprouts, berries, apples, mangoes, and watermelon.

Fat…Newsflash: Supermodels eat fat! It's the type that counts. Omega-3s are called "good
fats" because they play a vital role in every cell and system in your body. They didn't get
their "heart friendly" status for nothing. People who eat ample amounts of omega-3s are
less likely to have high blood pressure or an irregular heartbeat. In fact, studies show that
Omega-3 eaters are as much as 50 percent less likely to suffer a heart attack. Omega-3s
are essential for your brain as well. People with a diet rich in omega-3s are less likely to
suffer from depression, schizophrenia, attention deficit disorder (hyperactivity), or
Alzheimer's disease. Eating a regular healthy dose of Omega-3s have even been shown to
reduce your risk of cancer. Although the human research is in its infancy, researchers
have shown that omega-3s can slow or even reverse the extreme weight loss that
accompanies advanced cancer and also hasten recovery from surgery.
So where do you find these fabulous Omega-3s?

Omega-3s are most abundant in seafood- and certain nuts and seeds such as flaxseeds
and walnuts, but they are also found in animals raised on pasture. The reason is simple.
Omega-3s are formed in the chloroplasts of green leaves and algae. Sixty percent of the
fatty acids in grass are omega-3s. When cattle are taken off omega-3 rich grass and
shipped to a feedlot to be fattened on omega-3 poor grain, they begin losing their store of
this beneficial fat. Each day that an animal spends in the feedlot, its supply of omega-3s is

Forget About Processed Foods….many processed foods are filled with salt, sugar, and
chemicals that plain and simply make you feel gross, and are counterproductive to health
and fabulousness... which is why supermodels prefer to skip them. A few examples:
•        Canned Foods contain lots of salt (were talking most canned soups, canned ravioli
and other foods that resemble and smell like dog food, and even canned veggies! Look at
the "sodium" content in the nutritional facts to figure out how high your favorites rate.
•        White Breads and Pastas are often made from refined white flour, which pale in
comparison to whole wheat.

•        White Rice, is a whole grain that has been stripped of the nutritionally-viable
components like vitamins, nutrients and bran (fiber).
•        Packaged High-Calorie Snack Foods, like chips and cheese snacks may be
convenient, but they are also high-fat, sugar, and carbs. Oh, and they tend to totally lack
any nutritional components so why waste the calories?

•        Frozen Dinners, even lots of the "healthier options" tend to contain loads of sodium,
carbs, sugars, and chemicals. Again, check the box.

•        Packaged cakes, cookies, desserts. Just forget about them.

•        Boxed and bagged Meal Mixes can be alluring thanks to their easy prep, but aside
from the fact that they are frozen and generally not organic, the sauces can be loaded with
fat, salt, sugar, and chemicals. Don't be fooled!

•        Sugary Breakfast Cereals. Note the "sugary" part. Bad. Bad. Bad.

•        Processed Meats!! Ugh! Salt, chemicals, you don't even want to know what else often
lurks in the easy-prep lunch meats.

Prothinspoer's supermodels eat pretty similarly to you and me.
How many calories a day
does a supermodel eat?
Well, that is probably below 800 calories a day... But here's the
real secret: though they eat green year round, their bodies aren't perfect year round.
Nope, they up the ante and add extra cardio, resistance, and become super vigilant about
the food they eat- clean and green = staying lean.

Here are some other supermodels. On, what do supermodels eat?
Tip Sasha Pivovaro…Learn to deal with cravings. PMS, alcohol, thirst, boredom and
depression can all make you want to binge. But if you work out your triggers, you can
control them by distracting yourself.  A craving rarely lasts more than 20 minutes. Try
brushing your teeth, then do something you enjoy - phone a friend or have a relaxing
bath. Prothinspo tip… If cravings hit and you can’t control them try a hoodia lolly pop or a
spray of the cravecontroller…

Tip Elizabeth Jagger…Cook for yourself. Cook up a big pot of your
favourite healthy stew and freeze it in separate containers so you
can eat it when you're short on time. Elizabeth Jagger says, 'The
best home comfort is curling up on a big comfy couch, chilling out
in tracksuit bottoms and eating good, hearty, home-made British
Tips Elle Macpherson…. Go organic. Organic food has more
vitamins in it and is likely to be sweeter from natural sugars, so you're
probably going to enjoy it more and crave sugar less. Elle
Macpherson says, 'I try to eat organic as much as possible'.
