biography

Eleanor Gow was born March 29, 1964, in Sydney, Australia. Elle's original plan was to study pre-law at Sydney University,
but when the 18-year old, 6-foot beauty was discovered in Aspen, Colorado, she was immediately signed to the Click
modeling agency.

She soon became a staple of Elle magazine, posing for the magazine for 6 years. While her talent as a model was
undeniable, her marriage to the fashion magazine's creative director, Gilles Bensimon, further secured her relationship
with the magazine.

She ventured into the world of exercise videos, motivating and teaching people how to stay fit to hopefully end up with a
body like hers (probably something every woman would love). She showed off her body on the cover of the much coveted
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 1994, with models Kathy Ireland and Rachel Hunter.

Already having achieved supermodel status, Elle knew that the glamorous modeling industry has high turnover so she set
her sights on other projects. Since the crossover from modeling to acting is a popular and usually successful one, Elle
decided to perform in front of film cameras as well as fashion photographers. She first appeared on the silver screen in
the 1990 Woody Allen film Alice (the spectacled director personally picked her for the part), but the part required nothing
more than a "walk-by."

Still, that was a start, and in 1994, "The Body" was required to gain 20 pounds for her meatier role in Sirens, co-staring
Hugh Grant. In 1996 she appeared in a remake of Jane Eyre and starred opposite Ben Stiller in the comedy, If Lucy Fell.
That year she also appeared in The Mirror Has To Faces, with Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges.

Wanting to branch out into other industries, Elle used her business skills to become chair of a line of lingerie called, Elle
Macpherson Intimates. Based in Australia, the company has grown into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. Elle is also
associated with Montgomery Ward, a clothing line ranging from sportswear to intimates.

Finding time somewhere between all these projects, Elle joined fellow supermodels Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell
in developing the theme restaurant, the Fashion Caf.

Signed with Miramax, the leggy model/actress was the object of Batman's affection in 1997's Batman & Robin, and
co-starred with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin in The Edge.

Elle was recently seen last season on the sitcom Friends, in the recurring role of Joey's new roommate.

As for Elle's personal life, she and Gilles Bensimon got divorced, and Elle has since had two ex-fiancs, Eric Miller and Tim
Jeffries, and has dated Sean Penn. She is now with her long-time companion, Swiss financier Arpade "Arki" Busson, the
father of her son Flynn.
UK Magazine Invaded Elle MacPherson's Privacy With Holiday Photos
post 2/8/07

A series of photographs showing Elle MacPherson on holiday have been dubbed "an intrusion
of privacy" by the U.K.'s Press Complaints Commission (PCC). British magazine Hello! printed
pictures of the supermodel and her family on the private island of Mustique in August last year,
after which MacPherson lodged a complaint with the regulatory body.

The PCC have upheld MacPherson's complaint, ruling the star was entitled to a "reasonable
expectation of privacy" at the resort. Hello! magazine was not censured by the PCC for
publishing the pictures.

This Supermodel Hasn’t Had Sex in 2 years
Elle MacPherson hasn't had sex for two years.

The Australian supermodel and lingerie designer says she doesn't
have much
luck with men.

She told Britain's Esquire magazine: "It's crazy but, apart from a brief
romantic intermission last summer, I have been single and celibate
for two
years. How boring is that?"

The 43-year-old beauty - who was seen out with actor Ray Fearson
at the end
of last year - claims men are intimidated by her looks.

She said: "I just don't get men hitting on me, but I'm a hopeless flirt. I'
ll go up to a guy and say, 'I think you are so beautiful'. But it doesn't
work."

Elle - who has two sons by ex-boyfriend financier Arki Busson - has
also
denied ever romping with Colin Farrell, Al Pacino and former
England soccer
player Sol Campbell.

She said: "None of it is true. Some of them I don't even know. Others
are
just friends. I don't do flings because relationships are important to
me."

Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson’s secret to looking 20 years younger at the age of 45 has been revealed by her personal trainer James Duigan. Macpherson has attracted a lot of interest with her killer figure and Duigan was contacted to find out the
reason for her great shape. Elle Macpherson has five weight loss procedures or rules if you prefer that she applies every day. Read on for the details.
Elle Macpherson has been around long enough to know the most successful weight loss programs. Her trainer knows the weight loss programs that work. First of all Macpherson is a person who swears by fish oil, and it is one of the reasons she is so trim.
“They’re great for helping your body burn fat, especially around your stomach and waist,” the Mirror quoted him as saying. In fact, the latest study, from the Mayo clinic in Minnesota in the US, reveals that the omega-3 fatty acid contained in these oils helps
suppress appetite and encourages the body to burn fat around the mid-section.

Secondly the model moves around a lot, whether she’s cycling her kids to school in West London, or surfing in her native Australia, is always on the move. “She makes exercise a part of her day,” Duigan said. “When she was in Sydney recently, she was
cycling and surfing all the time. It’s important to stay active at weekends and holidays but, like Elle, you can make it fun,” he explained. She likes to do different exercise routines. She also has some exercise routines on DVD that help her look twenty years
younger!

Thirdly Macpherson does not want to be too skinny, she is happy to have a few extra pounds on her body. “A few pounds show a lot on my body but it’s OK. I believe women look good with a bit of softness to them,” the model once said. Although she’s very
slim, Macpherson always kept her curves during her modeling career, which is probably why she’s so fit now. “If you yo-yo diet or starve yourself, your metabolism suffers greatly,” says nutritionist Carina Norris. “It catches up with you in later life and you’ll
find it harder to keep a steady weight. It’s far better to eat well and move around a bit instead of messing with your metabolism,” she added.

Fourthly, Macpherson believes in her organic diet, and even says so. “I would encourage everyone to give it a go,” she said. Studies show that organic food contains more nutrients – and the more nutrients your body absorbs, the less hungry it feels,
however, it can be pricey, so just add the odd organic item to your basket when you can.

Fifthly, she likes to meditate, as it allows her to take time out to focus on her mind. “Keeping stress at bay is one of the best things you can do for your body and waistline,” Duigan said. Stress is closely linked with stomach fat – studies show that when we’re
stressed, our bodies release cortisol, a hormone that encourages our body to store fat around our waist and tummies.

She was not always this healthy minded. In 2003 she spent some time in rehab as she was burning the candle at both ends, but that has all changed and she is dedicated to leading a healthy lifestyle for herself and also for her two children.  When asked what
is the most difficult thing she has had to do to stay healthy she said it’s staying off cigarettes and alcohol.  She said,     “I don’t smoke, I don’t drink and I don’t take drugs – not even aspirin.  But that wasn’t always the case.  I was a normal kind of Australian
chick – excessive. I used to smoke 20 cigarettes a day, so giving that up was definitely the most challenging thing for me.”

When asked how she keeps her trim body, especially now that she doesn’t have cigarettes (appetite suppressants) and alcohol (food replacement) she admitted she does a lot to stay in shape.

Incorporate some fish oil like Elle MacPherson in your diet and see what great results you will get!
