Sitting at the pool today I noticed so much cottage cheese thighs it made me
really just not even want to eat my grapefruit. Yes, I do have some cellulite
myself but I have some secrets I will share with you first a little lesson to better
understand why even skinny women who work out and eat right have cellulite...
Cellulite is a combination of fat cells and fibrous connective tissue under the
skin. It is usually found on women on the hips, thighs, or buttocks. Cellulite
plagues 90% of all women at some point in our lives and the quest to get rid of
cellulite has become a billion-dollar business.
While the exact causes of cellulite formation aren't fully understood, it is known
that..Cellulite does not exist only for overweight women.
Thin women have the problem, too.
Older people have more cellulite than younger people.
Women experiencing puberty, menstruation, or menopause are more likely to
develop cellulite due to hormonal changes.

there are some steps you can take to reduce existing cellulite and slow the build-
up of additional cellulite.

Increase your cardiovascular exercise, up to 60 minutes every day. Do a “two a
day” meaning walk in the morning and again at night. This will help to burn up the
calories and excess body fat and improve circulation in your legs.
Incorporate strength training into your routine three days a week. Try exercises
that will tone the hamstrings, quadriceps, hips and glutes. Doing lower body
exercises 3 days a week can result in noticeable changes in a month. And
although guys don’t typically suffer from the curse of cellulite based on their
hormonal makeup, men will benefit from these exercises too. Strength training is
good for everyone.
Stay hydrated and eat healthy. Avoid preservatives, chemicals and processed
foods, as they can increase the toxins in your body and create inflammation
(which doesn’t aid in the appearance of cellulite). If your inner body is healthy
and feels good it will start to show on the outside.
Eat plenty of leafy greens, fruits and veggies. Keep junk, sugar and alcohol to a
bare minimum. Avoid caffeine, candy, alcohol, and high fat foods.

Now here is some more information..
Cellulite is the expression used to describe pockets of fat which are trapped and
cause dimpling in the skin. This dimpling is irregular and patchy and has been
identified with orange peel.

90% of post-adolescent women go on to develop cellulite at some time during
their life although it is very hardly ever seen in men. The thighs, buttocks and
the abdomen are the most common areas for a woman to develop cellulite.
Although it is often mistaken for obesity, cellulite is not actually obesity related
because it can also take place in thin lean women.

Underneath the dermis and epidermis are three specific layers of fat. Cellulite
tends to develop in the subcutaneous fat layers. This layer of fat is unique in its
structure compared to the other layers because its fatty parts are structured into
specific chambers by strands of linked tissue around it.

Hormones also help out with the storage of fat along with the body's metabolism
in the subcutaneous fat layer.

Hormonal factors such as estrogen and folliculine also play a role in cellulite
formation. Cellulite is for the most part found in women during their hormonal
changes such as puberty, pregnancy, and menopause and also whilst taking
birth control pills. A woman's hormones are usually responsible for the
regulation of their blood flow, fat, connective tissue and lymphatic drainage.

The fat cells between the two reserve fat layers situated under the
subcutaneous fat layer dissolve into a slack network. A person's genetic makeup
predicts their fat storage and metabolism in these layers which are predisposed
by diet, exercise and lifestyle. These layers have no responsibility for cellulite
forming on a person's body.


The subcutaneous fat layer in a woman is organised into large upright chambers
allowing fat to be stored. In men, these chambers are organised into small
slanting units. These store smaller fat quantities and are not likely to form
cellulite.

Cellulite's formation is a result of complex physiological changes that occur in
the subcutaneous fat layer. Regular exercise and well balanced diets do not
always reverse or prevent its formation, although an unhealthy lifestyle will make
the overall appearance worse over time due to poor nutrition, weight gain and
lack of sufficient water intake.

With age there is a loss in the thickness and tone of the connective tissue in the
superficial fat layer and the dermis. Unfortunately noticeable, flaccid cellulite is
the result.

To get rid of cellulite, you don’t really have to lift weights or do very
strenuous exercises. All you need to do is be consistent on your
workouts. Leg curls and squats are said to be effective anaerobic
exercises that would help you achieve your goal. Here are some ways to
do them:

a.    Leg Curls – For those who haven’t stepped inside a gym even once
in their life, then now would be a great time to do so.  In the gym, you can
easily find leg curl machines. Start with a light weight set and try
increasing the weight as you go on. If you start with, say, 25 lbs on the
first set, go for 35 then 45 on the succeeding sets that you will have.
Usually, 3 sets per session are recommended by experts to achieve
maximum effect. Of course after every set, take time to rest for at least 2
minutes before going into the next.

Squat exercises can be made using different techniques or variations.
Most common squat exercise types are the bench, ball, and bar bell.
There is also a machine called a Smith Machine that you can use which
offers the same effect as squats do.

b.    Ball Squat Exercise – in this exercise, just simply prepare your ball
and then stand with your back on the wall. Slowly position the ball behind
your back and squat. As the ball gives you that bounce back motion, the
activity becomes a lot more comfortable and easier though squatting is
done. Many who have done this workout attest that they can do more
squats with the aid of the ball.

c.    Bench Squat – grab a bench or a chair that you can find in your home.
To start exercising, act as if you’re going to sit on the chair or bench and
then start your squat as low as you can without actually sitting down then
go back up again on your original position. As you do this in a slow but
steady manner, feel the muscles on your thigh and butt working. You can
do this for as long as you can but it is ideal to do them in sets to
encourage a little rest for every set.

d.    Smith Machine – this machine is all about flexibility challenge. Be
sure to put a cushion padding on its bar to prevent hurting your neck. Do
your squats and lunges slowly coupled with additional weights to
increase muscle gain. Never use your back muscles to push yourself up
so that you won’t hurt yourself. If the weights are too heavy, then by all
means take some off! Again, 3 sets will be good enough to get the effect
you want.

Types of Cellulite Surgery

Cellulite surgery works by removing fat cells or breaking the connective
tissues that contribute to cellulite formation. The most common form of
cellulite surgery is liposuction, which involves inserting a hollow tube
into the affected areas and sucking out the fat. Another cellulite surgery
treatment is the lower body lift, wherein the skin in the lower body is
lifted to tighten it. Laser lipolisis is also another cellulite surgical
procedure that involves making small incisions on the skin and using a

Aside from checking the credentials and track record of the cellulite
surgeon, you can also ask the doctor to refer you to previous patients. If
you are not satisfied with the physician’s experience or credentials, you
can look for other surgeons. Remember that cellulite surgery has
potential health risks and you don’t want to compromise your health by
letting just any doctor perform surgery on you.

Are You Qualified for Cellulite Surgery?

Before you undergo cellulite surgery, you need to be in excellent
physical condition. Your doctor will examine you to know if you are
qualified to undergo cellulite surgery. Smokers and pregnant women are
usually not allowed to go through cellulite surgery. You need to quit
smoking, if you are a smoker, before cellulite surgery can be performed
on you.

You also have to stop taking medications that can affect cellulite surgery,
such as blood thinning agents. Your doctor will tell you what medicines
and drugs are detrimental to cellulite surgery.

The Possible Risks

Every surgical procedure has risks, and cellulite surgery is no exception.
The most common side effects of cellulite surgery are scarring and
bruising. However, in extreme cases, the possible health risks include
infection and organ failure, oftentimes leading to death. The risks are
minimized greatly if you hire a competent and experienced surgeon to
perform cellulite surgery on you.

After surgery, your skin might become rippled or uneven. There are
treatments that can smooth your skin after cellulite surgery, including
creams and massage treatments.

Cellulite surgery is both expensive and potentially risky, and should be
used only when extremely necessary. A combination of healthy diet and
