Australia's Next Top Model Premieres March 5th on Vh1
AUSTRALIA'S NEXT TOP MODEL PREMIERES ON VH1 MONDAY MARCH 5 AT 10:00 PM ET/PT
Ten gorgeous girls, only one winner, it’s gonna get ugly! Australia’s Next Top Model is an eight-part, series charting the
sometimes staggering and always eye-catching transformation of 10 hopefuls into potential working models.
Premiering on VH1, Monday March 5 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, Australia’s Next Top Model is hosted by model/presenter
ERIKA HEYNATZ and based on the top-rating series America’s Next Top Model, created and coproduced by supermodel
TYRA BANKS. The brief was to find the right raw talent to be transformed from good looking girls-nextdoor into potential
models as they navigate their way through weekly modelling assignments and tasks. The 10 finalists spent two months
living together in a penthouse in the exclusive Sydney suburb of Darling Point while filming the series.
In each episode, the program’s panel of judges – including leading fashion designer and former model booker ALEX
PERRY, celebrity fashion stylist KEN THOMPSON and former US Harper’s Bazaar Managing Editor MARGUERITE
KRAMER – assess task performance and potential. After each critique, one girl is sent home until only one remains.
Aside from the stress of learning the ropes of the business, the finalists also have to deal with the ups and downs of
‘model house’ life: tears and tantrums, accusations of fake breasts and theft. Then there are the cheating claims, the
‘you’re too skinny’ taunts and all the high drama you’d expect when you put 10 competitive and hugely ambitious girls
under one roof! The winner takes home a prize package including a trip to fashion capital Milan, where she will meet with
the renowned Fashion agency, an eight page spread in Cleo magazine, a Napoleon cosmetics campaign and
representation from CHIC Model Management.

AdvertisementTelevision personality Erika
Heynatz says she acted with integrity in her
move from pay TV to a commercial network.
The host of Foxtels' Australia's Next Top Model
was reportedly given her marching orders last
week when Foxtel learnt she'd signed to
Seven's new variety program It Takes Two.
Last week, Foxtel's executive director of
television and marketing Brian Walsh said he
was disappointed to read of Heynatz' new job in
the newspaper.
But Heynatz said she did nothing wrong.
"I just feel very confidently that I have acted with
honesty and integrity and that's the reputation I
have always had," Heynatz said.
"I achieved fantastic accolades for Top Model
and all I can say is 'Thank you', it's been
brilliant and I wish them luck if they make a third
series."
Heynatz says she has no advantage over her
fellow It Takes Two contestants despite being
tipped as odds-on favourite to win after
displaying her vocal talent earlier this year on
Top Model.
"It's absolute rubbish," she said.
The former model says she's nervous about her
Sunday night debut.
"You pride yourself on your composure and
don't allow people to see the inner, but
suddenly you don't have the skill to play it cool
in this," she said.
"You are much more vulnerable."
Similar in format to Seven's Dancing With the
Stars, It Takes Two is a live show featuring 10
non-singing celebrities and 10 of Australia's
finest singers.
Talent scout Amanda Pelman, singing
sensation Marina Prior, musician and Sydney
ABC radio presenter James Valentine and
music veteran Ross Wilson will judge.
It Takes Two premieres on May 28, with Sunrise
weatherman Grant Denyer as host.
Australia's Next Top Model Is HOT!! post 3/8/07
So 10 wanna-be models arrived in Sydney for the experience of a lifetime; Allana, Atong, Chloe,
Gemma, Naomi, Nicole, Sam, Shannon, Simmone and Zoe gathered at Rose Bay's renowned Catalina
restaurant where they were met by host Erika Heynatz and thrown right in the deep end of the
modeling pool with an impromptu Alex Perry fashion show. A far cry from the glamorous lunch the
girls were expecting, it was backstage chaos as they all prepared for the show!
I must also say that all girls did the runway really well.
Clicks were quickly formed when the girls discovered their beautiful new home, a massive Darling
Point penthouse with sweeping harbor views, had only two bedrooms with five single beds in each!
Fitness trainer Brad Joseph made an unwelcome entry to the model house the following morning to
measure and weigh each of the girls. They also did calipers to check body fat...The weigh-in fueled
speculation amongst the girls! Eating Disorder Alert... Ya know that was going to come up. Hello it is
a model contest if one of five girls has an eating disorder. Four of Five Models probably have
sometype of ednos.
Okay so then the Models all had their first swim suit photo shoot. Let me first say the bathing suits....
I wanted everone that they showed on this episode. All girls really looked amazing in their photos
even though it was very cold out and they had to get into very cold water. I liked that when they
were judged in front of the panel... the judges make the other girls leave the room. I liked that
because it is really none of the other girls business your good points or bad points. In the fashion
business which I am in I can tell you now nobody would talk to you with other people in the room. So
Koodos to Australia's Next Top Model for being more realistic than Tyra's America's..
The surprises continued as the girls were made over for their introduction to the Sydney party
scene - a cocktail party at POSH Bar where they mingled with the A-List. Later that night, the drama
continued as Sam called a house meeting to discuss concerns there was some money missing from
Atong's wallet. There was a little confusion as to how much money was actually missing and the way
the situation was handled caused an even bigger rift in the house.
Later elimination jitters showed as the girls made their way to the first judging panel -- no-one knew
what to expect and no-one could predict who would be leaving the competition. The judges
deliberated and when the girls walked back in Erika stood before the 10 of them with only nine
pictures. One by one she called out the girls who were still in the running to become Australia's
Next Top Model? Click here to see all the girls.... Anyway, they all come up to the front grab their
pictures and only two of the girls are standing there. Only one can stay. So it is down to Nicole(who
everyone thinks is to skinny, has an eating disorder,or is just unhealthy looking) Or Naomi.... the
shorty of the bunch? If you haven't seen the show and don't want to know who stays...... don't read
anymore.
Well, as in real life situations, of course the skinny girl is more a model choice than the short girl.....
ahhhh finally more reality. I was kinda getting frustrated with Tyra's defending this heavier model
type. Seriously I have been modeling since I was five.... never have I worked with a girl larger than a
size 9! To read and see more of Australia's Next Top Models... Click here. Don't forget to check out

The leggy 18-year-old from Arundel will strut her stuff with an expected 2000 other
Gold Coast beauties and hunks at the inaugural Make Me A Supermodel TV show
auditions in Surfers Paradise today.
Guys and girls are being called on to put their looks on the line for the new reality
show that promises fame and a modelling contract as the final prize.
Gold Coast International will play host to the supermodel hopefuls and celebrity
judges, including marie claire magazine editor Jackie French.
Tanya said she was looking forward to making a good impression in front of the
judges.
Ellyn Dorman, from Highland Park, has studied modelling at the Reeder Deportment
School and was hoping to make her debut today.
But at 15, she is two months too young for the competition.
"I'm not 16 until August so I'll just have to keep hoping until next year," she said.
Auditions continue in Brisbane tomorrow but Channel 7 spokeswoman Debbie Turner
said the Gold Coast had earned its own audition date because of its reputation for
beautiful people.
"The Gold Coast is known for having the most gorgeous beach girls and guys," said
Ms Turner. click here.
