Elisabetta Canalis and the rest of the
DWTS were treated to tacos for lunch
after a rehearsal session leading up to
the premiere of this season's ABC's
Dancing With The Stars this Monday,
September 19th, at 8/7c. As you know,
Elisabetta recently unveiled her PETA
ad and had this to say about posing
nude against fur:

"I decided to go nude because I think
that nudity always creates a big reactio.
That is what is required to keep people's
attention on such a brutal practice.
These poor animals are electrocuted,
skinned alive, drowned, and bludgeoned
just for the sake of fashion." [Source]

Elisabetta talks about herself..
My life
I was born in Sassari on September, 12th 1978 under the sign of Virgo.

My parents are Cesare and Bruna, he is a radiologist in Sassari’s University clinic and she is an
Italian literature teacher. My brother is Luigi.

I obtained my school–leaving certificate at “Azuni” Classical High School in Sassari. Then I left
Sardinia and moved to Milan to study foreign languages at “Università Statale”. Milan gave me the
great chance to enter the show business.
Working in show-business
Everything began in 1999 with a lucky trial for “Striscia la notizia”, a funny TV show that launched me
as a show-girl, a so-called “velina”. I had a great success and I worked for that show until 2002.

After that amazing experience I started looking around, searching for new projects and I was
involved in TV shows, commercials and serials.

My next goal is to become a movie star: I’m moving my first steps in this field joining some
international productions.
My passions
I am really keen on horses. When I was a child I used to ride and I also took part to some horse
shows. One of my dreams is to spend more time with these beautiful animals: I wish I could run a
riding school or a place in which I can host horses and take care of them.

I use to practice several sports in my spare time: swimming and dancing are my favourite activities
but lately I’m also practicing Kick boxing.

I can’t live without my puppy Andrea, who has been living with me for almost two years in my place in
Milan.

Many forms of dance can cause weight loss. Dancing is a fantastic form of exercise. Not only does it raise
the heart rate through movement, dancing also tones and tightens the major muscle groups of the body.
Dancing can burn as many calories as walking, swimming or riding a bicycle. A half hour session of sustained
dancing can burn a lot of calories.
One of the best things you can do to lose weight is to find an exercise that you actually enjoy doing, because
you won’t stick to an exercise routine that you don't really like. If you are serious about losing weight
through dancing, be sure to choose the right type of dance. Some dance styles are much more strenuous
than others. For example, a fast-paced jazz class will burn more calories than a slow and graceful lesson in
ballet. Choose a dance class that gets you up and moving!

Benefits of Dance?

Dance benefits your Mind, Body, and Spirit!

Mindundefined When you engage your mind when you dance, it increases your weight-loss results, because
you are placing your full attention on each movement (not like the boring exercise bike).

undefined
Mind   undefined When you challenge your mind to focus and learn new things, it increases the health of
your brain—increasing blood flow and alertness. Research also shows that dance prevents mental illness
such as Alzheimer's.undefined
Mindundefined Dance is a form of movement meditation—quieting the normally busy “chatter” inside of your
mind. If you have ever wanted to try meditation for its stress-reducing benefits—Dance is a wonderful way to
quiet your mind by focusing on movement with music.undefined
Bodyundefined Dancing releases endorphins in your body—which help you feel pleasurable, happy, at peace
with your life and naturally high. Much “higher” feelings than you could ever get with wine or beer.undefined
Bodyundefined Dancing uses “Contra Motion” (the opposite swinging motion you use when you walk). Dance
uses all of your large muscle groups and many muscles that you don't use on a daily basis—providing a true
full-body workout. One study found dancers to have higher fitness levels than swimmers!

undefined
Bodyundefined Dancing connects you to your “Powerhouse Core” muscles, as Joseph Pilates calls them (the
founder of Pilates). Your Powerhouse Core muscles include your abdomen, lower and upper back, hips,
buttocks and inner thighs. Dance teaches you to connect with your Powerhouse Core muscles and extend all
other movement from this strong foundation.undefined
Bodyundefined Strengthening your Core Muscles creates beautiful posture (have you ever sat next to a
ballet dancer?—hello beautiful, hot posture!), flexibility, and a strong back and legs. Dancing counteracts the
“Laptop Slump” so many people suffer from!

undefined
Spirit  undefined Dancing makes you very attractive to other people. Studies in Jamaica have documented
that confident dancers attract the best partners. Enjoy this sexy, satisfying benefit!

undefined
Spirit     undefined Dancing gives you a clear and easy way to practice loving and appreciating your body
while dancing in the mirror. It is a “gateway drug” in helping you to love and care for yourself in every area
of your life.
undefined
Spiritundefined Dancing is an ancient art-form. It taps you into an ancient tradition of treating yourself like
the Queen or King that you are! It makes you feel alive and free!

The very first time you dance with me, your body's natural  Endorphin System will kick into gear and REWARD
you with a flood of endorphins: leaving you feeling naturally high.

Guess what? Each time you dance with me, your body will reward you with higher levels of Endorphins. It
feels so great to enjoy your body's natural rewards!

And shaking your hips and booty just feels SO GOOD! It taps you right into your Pleasure Center! You'll have
to let me know how that brings so much Pleasure to other parts of your life, too
