Power of Water Fasting
Water-fasting is a very old and amazing
practice used for thousands of years as a
form of recovery from a diversity of
ailments.
In its strictest form, water fasting is to be
practiced with purified water.
But we are not going to say that you will
receive no benefits "unless" you use
purified water.
One of the water fasting tips I always
mention is that: Purified Water is optimal,
but do not let that stop you if for
whatever reason you do not have access
to a purifier at present.
Body Functions While Fasting
Not eating solid food for a season via
water fasting gives the human body an
opportunity - especially the digestive
system - to rest, flush out toxins and
repair itself.
While you are water fasting, the body will switch its
energy usage from that of constantly digesting
daily food intake to cleansing.
The digestive system goes into hibernation and the
body focuses on ridding itself of built-up toxins
and on actually repairing and healing damaged
cells and organs.
As water fasting tips, remember that as you move
deeper into the process, your body will basically
start to devour everything in its path that is not
part of its normal functions.
This includes toxins in the blood stream, toxins
and other derelict build-ups inside body fat and
joints, fibroid tumors, viruses and bacteria - among
others.
The First Three Days
Most of the amazing changes take place while
fasting happen on the first three days of
abstaining from solid food.
The reason is that it is during this time that the
body is moving over from feeding mostly from
daily food intake, to feeding from stored fat.
We have talked about this in other pages of this
website, but it is worth mentioning again so you
can fully understand what your body will be going
through.
One of the most important water fasting tips is to
understand what you are going through, so that
you do not become alarmed when you begin to
experience the changes your body will undergo.
The Process of Ketosis
Under normal eating circumstances, the body will
use the food you eat to extract the sugar
"glucose."
Glucose is thus used by the body as "gasoline" to
get you through the day and provide the energy
you need to function.
But all of this changes drastically when you stop
eating. When you are water fasting, the body
amazingly shifts its fuel production from that of
glucose from food, to that of "ketones" or fuel
extracted from stored fat.
As part of water fasting tips I want you to be
aware that: this reorganization of fuel production
(from glucose to stored fat) starts the second day
of food abstinence and is usually completed at the
end of of your first 72 hours.
In some cases it may take up to four to five days,
but three days is the average.
By the third day, the production of ketone will
become enough to deliver pretty much all the fuel
it needs.
From the third day on, the body accelerates its
consumption and breakdown of fatty acids and
fat. This miraculous process hits is peak usually
from the ninth to eleventh day.
This seven-day period, after the body has shifted
completely over to ketosis, is where the maximum
breakdown of fat tissue occurs.
It is also when the most significant healing begins
to occur.





For Beginners
If you are a beginner, I suggest that you start initially with a
partial fast.
In other words, skip one meal a day - say lunch - and drink a
healthy amount of water instead.
You can start water fasting for short periods of time. Please
do not think that to attain any benefits you HAVE to fast for
days and days and days. That is simply not true.
Yes, fasting for longer periods of time will foster deeper
detoxification and more weight loss, but ANY effort you can
begin to make for yourself RIGHT NOW is more than enough
to get you on your way!
Little by little you can work your way to longer and longer
fasts. Do not hurry and please take it easy.
Water fasting is exactly that - abstaining from solid food for a period
of time and drinking only water. It is certainly the most challenging
form of this discipline - but it also one that can transform your life,
not only throughly dramatic weight loss, but through increased
energy, mental clarity and insight.
Stay Connected
Do not be a lone ranger - wanting to be a spiritual giant
to the exclusion of people close to you.
Water fasting is a physical powerhouse that can nuke
debris from your system and give you an outlook on
life you never thought possible.
It is, in some ways, supernatural. Yet its dynamics are
easy to grasp. You clean the trash, things get better.
Water fasting is really the toughest of all types of
fasting because you receive no taste or substance in
your body for the alloted time except for the water
itself.
Water is really the purest and most life-giving
substance on earth, although totally taste and
odorless.
My longest water fast was one of 40 days I did several
years ago.
Without a doubt I can tell you that fasting for 40 days
laid the foundation for a huge surge in vitality, insight
and health.
Overcoming Limitations
The mystical side of fasting we will discuss later, but
let it be said for now that if you are reading this, it is
because in your soul you realize that there has to be
more to life than what you have been experiencing.
There is perhaps an instinct inside of you that wants to
overcome limitations and experience a better life
quality.
Don't stop reading my friend. This can be the
beginning of the rest of your life. And, amazingly, all
you need to effect the change is --- water and guts. A
Water Diet is immensely powerful and it shakes up
your system almost immediately.
A water diet basically is the recommendation that you
drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of chilled water a day to
keep your body hydrated and assist your digestive
system.
There are many who confuse the water diet with water
fasting - so I wanted to make that clarification.
Water fasting is abstaining from food for a season and
drinking just water. A water diet is part of the lifestyle
we encourage you to adopt once the fast is over and
you have resumed food intake.
But I'm not Thirsty!
Every time you feel hunger, bombard your body with
another glass of water.
I actually carry around gallon jugs wherever I go and make it
a goal to drink at the very least one of those a day when I
am not fasting, and two a day when I am fasting.
Some people, however, insist that they do not have to drink
water if their bodies are not thirsty.
I venture to disagree adamantly with this position, and have
found in much of my research that many literally dehydrate
themselves daily and never feel thirst.
They drink soda, juice, milk and anything else that can be
classified as a liquid - except water.

Preparing to Fast
Once you have done the partial fast for several weeks, eat
ONE of your regular meals and diminish the second one to
one of only a salad, fruits and/or vegetables.
The third "meal" will continue to be water only.
I suggest that you do the light meal for lunch and practice
the water fast in substitution of dinner. This brings you very
close to a complete 24-hour cycle.
At this point the hunger will definitely start to attack you.
This is the stomach basically whining like a child.
Drink a big glass of water when hunger hits. Drink another
one if that does not work.





Toilet Sprints
More than likely when first attempting this
type of fast, you will have to dash for the
toilet with frequency.
The body is not used to such large shots
of liquid in one sitting, and the water
pushes on the colon right away and starts
inducing the elimination of fecal residue
stored within its walls.
This is similar to a colonic cleansing when
you are attached to a machine that injects
water into your colon to loosen debris.
No, drinking large amounts of water is
NOT the same as drinking juice or soda.
Water is pure life. Life power.
At this point, between the first and third
day of water fasting, the waste coming out
of your body is from food recently
consumed mostly.
Getting to the dregs attached to the colon
will take a little longer. That is where the
true miracle lies.
The best way to accelerate this process is
to massage your stomach, pressing in with
both hands open.
First emphasizing the top of the colon,
then the bottom... then the liver. Repeat
this several times a day when water fasting.
In one occasion, I massaged a spot that
had a bulk of feces and it came lose very
quickly.
To say the least, I probably set a record
racing to the toilet.
The point is to drink large amounts of
water, and then to massage your abdomen
to maximize the amount of dried and toxic
feces eliminated from your body.
A lot of that accumulated feces goes on to
cause disease later in life. Let's work to
get it out of our bodies!
